Travel planning toolkits

What is a travel plan?

A travel plan is a package of measures aimed at encouraging sustainable travel within an organisation, with an emphasis on reducing the reliance on car travel. Travel plans may be needed as a result of an issue at an existing site, such as congestion, parking problems, poor staff recruitment and retention, poor air quality or future expansion plans.

Benefits of a travel plan

A travel plan will aim to reduce the number of people travelling by car alone to or from a site and increase the number of people using active and sustainable travel modes, including walking, cycling, car sharing and public transport. It can include travel by employees, visitors, customers, deliveries and contractors, fleet vehicles and business travel.

How we can help

To help you create and manage a travel plan for your workplace we have created toolkits that you can download to guide you through the process. There is a toolkit for each mode of transport and includes soft and hard measures and promotions, along with links to useful websites.

We hope the toolkits help you deliver a successful travel plan and if you have any further questions or need support in addition to the toolkits, please contact us.
