Rainbow Trail Walking Routes

We've created a range of walking routes around the new Rainbow Trails that have opened in a selection of Southampton's city parks. Rainbows have become a symbol of hope throughout the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and have been popping up in windows all across the world. The Rainbow Trail in Southampton is a community art project that celebrates this message, bringing residents' artwork and stories to life as part of a new interactive trail.

The trail consists of 100 rainbows, carved from up-cycled scaffold board and printed with designs from local children and residents. The rainbows can currently be found dotted around parks in the city including The Common, Freemantle Lake, Riverside Park, Southampton Sport Centre and in the city centre. Each rainbow also has an accompanying QR code - simply scan the code to read a clue. Rainbows in The Common will also reveal a piece of creative writing when scanned. Collect all the clues to complete the full trail.

The trail is running until 5 September and is raising money for Communicare, a charity that enriches the lives of lonely and isolated people in and around Southampton. Click here to donate to the project.
