Hand sanitiser now available at twenty city centre bus stops.

To help prevent the spread of COVID 19, Southampton City Council has installed hand sanitiser dispensers at twenty of the busiest bus stops in the city centre, making it easy for bus passengers to sanitise their hands before boarding and after leaving the bus. This is in addition to existing measures already implemented by the council and the bus operators, including measures to support social distancing, daily cleansing of the buses, and “on the spot” spray cleaning throughout the day in busy City Centre bus hubs (such as Vincent’s Walk, Above Bar and Portland Terrace).
The hand sanitiser dispensers will be in place for at least 6 months from 1 March and the level of sanitiser fluid in each dispenser will be checked and topped up on a regular basis.
If you must travel by public transport, it is compulsory to wear a face covering. Please also pay by contactless if you can and follow the social distancing guidelines.
