Subscribe todayThe Big Street Survey
Our Big Street Survey is an exciting curriculum resource enabling pupils to investigate the area around their school and create a manifesto on how to make their streets safer and greener.
Working both inside and outside the classroom, pupils explore what they like and dislike about their neighbourhood, before using their manifesto to lobby decision-makers and elected representatives at national and local level to make their changes happen.
Get involved todaySustrans Superheroes
Sustrans’ Superheroes is an award scheme recognising pupils’ skills and achievements in walking, scooting and cycling. Aimed at 7- to 11-year-olds, pupils gain points for activities they complete to become either a Sustrans Hero or Superhero.
Become a heroThe Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel
Sustrans’ annual Big Walk and Wheel (renamed Big Pedal for 2022) is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge. Each spring, schools compete to see who can get the most pupils, families and staff members to arrive on two wheels. The more that do, the greater the chance to win some fantastic prizes from bike and scooter storage to cycle stunt shows by the UK’s best riders. The competition is weighted according to the size of the school, so everyone has a fair chance to win!
Get involved todayThe Big Shift
Sustrans’ Big Shift is a free-to-access online challenge designed to motivate the school community to travel more actively. The challenge sets the school individual targets based on how pupils currently travel to school, helping them make a Small Step, Big Stride or Giant Leap to increasing active travel.
