“I learnt to ride as an adult myself so I understand what it’s like to make that leap of faith! The thrill and freedom of going places under my own steam is still with me. Many years of cycling later, I was inspired to train as a cycling instructor to help others start or restart riding. There are so many good reasons to cycle and my friendly, supportive, one-to-one tuition can give you the skills and confidence to get riding - and be a positive presence on our roads.”
Dilys Gartside, telephone: 01258 860 157 or 07751 044365, email Cyclewisesouthampton@gmail.com
"Having cycle commuted to work for years as a solicitor, in 2005 I qualified as a freelance cycling instructor and set up Cyclewise to teach both children and adults, abled and disabled, the joy and skills for safer cycling as a mode of transport. When not doing that, I'm leading guided rides and Breeze women's rides for British Cycling or campaigning for safer cycling. I work from North Dorset to Southampton."

"I provide cycle skills tuition to all age groups, from absolute beginners to more experienced cyclists, in groups or 1-1 tuition. As an experienced HGV and car driver as well as a cyclist, I can provide tips on assessing risks at challenging junctions and ways to improve communication with other road users. In addition, I specialise in providing cycle skills to children and adults with special needs."
Adrian Woolley, telephone: 07900 016716, email bikeabilityinstructor@gmail.com or visit Facebook.
"My mission is to get more people cycling for everyday journeys by coaching safer cycling. I'm currently a Child Workforce School Sports Coach and have been since September 2013. I have skills, expertise and interests in sports and outdoor activities and I have proven experience of building rapport and engaging with trainees. I pride myself in motivating others to reach their full potential."
Happy cycling!
