Bluestar Promise
Bluestar has launched a new initiative in Southampton, designed to encourage local residents to leave their cars at home in favour of travelling by bus. To help ease congestion and reduce harmful pollution in Southampton, Bluestar is asking people who live, work and shop in and around the city to make the Bluestar Promise and swap just one car journey a week with a Bluestar bus journey.
Just one Euro 6 double decker can carry upwards of 70 people, reducing the number of single occupancy vehicles on the road and giving off far less harmful emissions than a brand new diesel car.
By committing to just one bus journey a week, the people of Southampton can have a significant impact on air quality and congestion in the city.
