Big Bike Revival Southampton 2017

The Big Bike Revival came to Southampton from 6th May - 18th June 2017. Thank you to everyone who came and took part in our events!

This year, The Big Bike Revival held various events across the city to help people bring their bikes back into use, gain more confidence in the saddle and get ready to enjoy a summer of cycling.

The My Journey team attended local community events to help over 800 people get back into cycling by providing bike health checks, sharing maintenance knowhow and fun, free activities for all the family.

Groups such as Transition Southampton, Monty’s Bike Hub and Newtown YMCA (part of Fairthorne YMCA) ran biking activities for local communities throughout May and June. Together, they helped provide amazing opportunities for young people in learning how to fix bicycles, they gave families the chance to try out adapted bicycles and cargo bicycles, and they taught people cycling skills, including BMX skills and tricks!

My Journey Southampton hopes to take part in the Big Bike Revival again next year - keep updated by checing our Facebook and Twitter regularly, or visit www.bigbikerevival.org.uk to see when the Big Bike Revival will be announced next year!
